- The new laws are designed to reduce and prevent the exploitation and mistreatment of vulnerable workers;
- The new laws introduce a comprehensive labour hire regulation scheme;
- All labour hire providers will be required to be licensed and all labour hire arrangements must be with licensed providers;
- A compliance unit will also be established to investigate complaints, with maximum penalties of $126,044.60 or three years imprisonment for an individual or $365,700 for serious corporate breaches.
