The personal injury compensation process

With a team of compensation lawyers Gold Coast counts on for lower fees and bigger wins, vbr Lawyers is proud to be a little bit different. Getting started is easy. Here’s how it works.

Talk with a lawyer

Start your personal injury claim with an initial conversation with one of our Gold Coast lawyers. This typically takes about 30 minutes (but there’s no time limit). We’ll learn all about your claim and what steps you’ve taken so far.

Get a letter of advice

You’ll receive a letter of advice within a few days of that initial chat. The aim here is to give you our specific recommendations for your compensation claim. This letter is written simply, so you don’t have to struggle through legal jargon. If you haven’t already, we’ll typically recommend you seek medical advice first.

Start the process

As soon as you’re ready to go ahead, we’ll start your compensation claim. This part will look different for every claim, but it always starts with us notifying the relevant parties and starting to gather evidence.

Our personal injury lawyers are a little bit different.

At vbr Lawyers, we’re proud to say our Gold Coast compensation lawyers are different to the rest.

Win more for less

With compensation lawyers Gold Coast counts on for lower fees and bigger claims, we win more for less.

No win, no fee

Take the risk out of your personal injury claim — you don’t pay until we win.

Always deal with a senior lawyer

You’ll never be left with a junior lawyer or a paralegal for your personal injury claim.

Work with an award-winning firm

Our Gold Coast compensation lawyers are award-winning.

A compassionate approach

Personal injury claims are overwhelming enough. We take a compassionate approach.

The opposite of the big firms

Our experienced personal injury lawyers offer a personal touch in every claim.

It’s No Win, No Fee

With our No Win, No Fee approach, you don’t have to pay for our legal services until we win compensation for you. It takes the financial pressure out of an already stressful period and offers you security as you claim compensation. If we don’t win your claim, then you don’t have to pay a cent. If we do win your claim, then you will pay a portion of your claim to us once you receive your compensation.

No Win, No Fee exists so that if you’re seeking compensation for injury, illness, or a traumatic event, then you don’t have to go through the additional pressure of financial stress. Our No Win, No Fee payment structure allows us to support you as you seek the compensation you deserve, without creating an additional financial burden.

Our low fee model

Our personal injury lawyers want to make sure you take home the biggest possible compensation claim. That’s why we work on a model designed to incorporate low fees. If you need to claim compensation, we want the compensation we win for you to work on getting your life back on track.

We charge less

Our personal injury lawyers charge 20 to 40% less in our legal fees than the larger law firms do. As well as that, we don’t charge uplift (an additional charge for risky claims), and we put a cap on our legal fees (excluding refunds and expenses) at 30% of your claim (legally, this charge can be up to 50%). If we win a larger claim amount for you, we won’t take the full 30%. We’ll just take what we need to cover our fees.

And we win more

In every compensation claim, we work hard to win a bigger package for you. Where bigger firms are known for churning and burning through cases in an approach referred to as ‘settle low to bring in the dough’, at vbr Lawyers, we want you to be compensated with a great claim amount. That’s why we take a slow, steady approach that allows our lawyers to put in the extra time to get the right evidence, allow injuries to settle, and get all the information to claim more for you. It’s all about getting you the compensation you deserve.
